The infrared thermometers designed and manufactured by Radiant Innovation Inc. offer features and performance characteristics well-suited to the temperature measurement needs of food professionals. Established in 2000, Radiant Innovation Inc. is the fastest growing global supplier of IR thermometers with over 200,000 units sold in the USA during 2003 and over 250,000 in 2004 (mostly under private label by such companies as Cooper-Atkins, Taylor Precision, Cole-Parmer and Grainger). All Radiant infrared thermometers include: · Temperature display resolution of 0.1 degrees (°F/°C) · Enhanced immunity to “thermal shock” “Thermal shock” is a very important performance characteristic for hand-held infrared thermometers. Temperature measurement errors resulting from a 10 degree change in environmental temperature of competitive infrared thermometers (e.g., Raytek MT) is about two degrees and requires 30 minutes to stabilize. By contrast, the Radiant TN408LC Model exhibits an error differential of only 0.7 degrees stabilizing in about 7 minutes. The TCT103F thermometer is specially designed for food temperature monitoring and food safety applications. Incorporating a state-of-the–art infrared sensor and a durable thermocouple probe, the TCT103F provides fast and accurate temperature readings of food surfaces and food internal temperatures. With two measurement options the TCT103F allows food professionals to quickly scan the surface of hot or cold foods without making contact or insert the Teflon-coated Stainless Steel probe for an instant reading on the large LCD display. One thermometer does the job of two…and at a price lower than that of an ordinary infrared thermometer. Small and lightweight, you can keep the TCT103F ready in your pocket to easily verify that cold food is cold and hot food is hot. In addition, the TN305LC and TN408LC offer programmable HI/LO temperature alarms with audible “beeper” and visible alarm indications on the instrument’s large back-lit LCD display. For example, in food safety applications this capability would allow HACCP critical temperatures such as 41F and 140F to be programmed into the instrument. Both of these models measure in excess of 900ºF making them very suitable for temperature measurements of cooking surfaces in addition to food temperature.
